Protection & Safe Shelter

Safety, Dignity and a Path
Towards Healing

Protection begins with a place where a person is no longer at risk — and
continues with the respect that makes recovery possible.

First Priority

When Safety
Comes First

Some situations cannot wait. When a child or an adult is at risk, the first responsibility is to reduce that risk and provide somewhere safe to be.

From there, support is offered rather than imposed. People are given information, choices and the time they need to decide what happens next.

Our Principles

A Dignity-Centred Approach

Safety

Reducing immediate risk is always the first priority.

Dignity

People are treated as people, never as cases to be processed.

Privacy

Information is handled carefully and shared only when necessary.

Support

Practical and emotional help offered at the person's own pace.

Recovery

Time and space for stability to return.

Opportunity

A route forward, not simply a pause in the crisis.

Gender-Based Violence

Supporting Survivors of
Gender-Based Violence

Survivors are supported with confidentiality, respect and patience. Nothing is disclosed
without consent, and no one is asked to relive their experience in order to receive help.

Shared Responsibility

Protection Requires Collective Responsibility

Protection is not the work of one organisation. It grows from families, neighbours, schools,
institutions and communities that take responsibility together.

Safety Is the Beginning of Hope
